Extremism and the stupidity of absolutism.

Sat Nov 15, 2008, 12:43 PM
Well I'm outraged at the amount of communist and nazi sympathisers on this side.
Ive seen some profiles and some post on the politics forum that make me question the average IQ of mankind.

Are people that stupid and dense?
Don't they know about horrible stuff those 2 ideologies have caused, or are they just brainwashed??

The problem of fascism, and communism lies in placement of abolute power in too few hands.
My next few poems will be about the subject of extremism and I will problably make a few cartoons to boot.

I just declared my own crusade against fascist of every color creed and religion.
Be afraid!

Over and out.

I like how the poem gets you to think about the definition of slavery. After I read it I thought (even though it's not explicitly mentioned in the poem!), if there aren't many forms of slavery, like conformism, absolutism and other ism's that will enslave your mind? But as you said in your poem you can't enslave anyone, as long as you are the one who sets the definitions (Very much like Nietzches thoughts on Wille zu macht) Translation: The will to evaluate define and create, even though the word macht directly translates power, its closer related to the word Make.
Arrgh I'm talking too much sorry:blahblah:

Well to cut it short I liked it:)

Wow. Thank you so much for your comment! (What language was that by the way?) And I don't mind you talking a lot at all! I'm just glad you got something out of it.

Well it was German.

I was qouting the German philosopher Nietzche, because your poem reminded me of his philosophy.

This stanza of your poem in particular:

To keep a slave a slave,
you must remove their identity
and replace it with one that you’ve
created for them. But if they use
the name you’ve given to be
synonymous to strength,
will you take back the name?

That was more or less what Nietzche was all about, about defining yourself. Nietzche was hardcore against any forms of mental slavery, he didn't believe in systematic thinking ideology or religion, but he believed in every human beings ability to define whats best for them selves. One thing Nietzche would have said is, that noone is a slave unless he enslaves himself. And the slaves in your poem seem to be free in a way that the slaver himself could only wish for

That was what cought my eye about this poem.

No problem.

It was a great poem.

I love it when hypocricy is being exposed.
